Creating Your Own Magic

Magicians and illusionists alike often create their own magic to set a name for themselves. Their tricks or illusions will often be inspired by older, classic tricks but have been taken to new heights or given clever new twists. Let's present a quick run through of the important questions to consider:

1. What tricks or illusions do you already know?
2. What new trick or illusion do you want to create or produce?
3. What techniques can be crossed over to and from other tricks?
4. Can techniques be merged or consolidated? Can other techniques be simplified or torn down?
5. Can you give an existing trick or the newly created trick a unique style of presentation?

Once you have these questions answered, you can start putting different parts of tricks or illusions together by combining techniques or using a consolidated technique to perform a single trick. Through experimentation of trick and illusion layering, you will come up with your own magic. Of course, don't get angry or frustrated if it doesn't work out at first. This will take time!
