False Color Castle

5

Similar to an illusion posted before, this trick is more in your eyes than in your mind. The rods and cones in the back of your retina take time to adjust after you release focus off the dot. Once they adjust, the proper signal is sent to your brain to tell you that, "Hey! This ain't colored!"

Sleight of Hand - The Pinch Drop

5

A simple yet useful technique to vanish objects. The Pinch Drop utilizes any object (in this video a coin is used) placed first in one hand. The object is secretly dropped with a small release of pressure under the cover of the other hand. Though the other hand is there to cover the drop, in the eyes of the audience it should appear to grab what was the object but is now thin air.

Blazing Fast Coin Teleportation Magic

Mr. Maric, a long-time "Super Magician" in Japan, shows off superb coin magic skills. Though this is an example of performance magic, having an understanding of Sleight of Hand principles is a must if you are just starting out with magic. Learning sleight of hand will enable you with skills that you can use in other fields, such as card magic, poker, and even at the dinner table on a first date.
