Steady fixation is a term used in optics when the eyes are fixed on a point with no blinking or movements. In motion induced blindness, steady fixation causes disappearance of the yellow dots in the video below. When you blink or shift your gaze even the slightest bit, the dots will reappear.

Art In Motion: The Lion Fish

"The Lion fish - beautiful and...deadly."

James Kuhn paints his face into a beautiful Lion Fish. He uses watercolor paper for the fins that were simply (or not so simply) cut out and taped to his face. He puts on a wonderful show with his fish-like facial expressions. Perhaps he should try out for Carnival in Brazil!
